Polydromo group, in collaboration with the School of Early Childhood Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Joint Greek-French Postgraduate Programme “Didactiques du plurilinguisme et politiques linguistiques - Diffusion des langues et cultures en contexte multilingue” and the Department of Philology, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of Maine of France, jointly organizes the International Conference 4th Crossroad of languages and cultures: 'Multilingual Educational Approaches and Language Policies' that will take place during 2 & 3 June 2016, at the Tower of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The 4th 'Crossroads of Languages and Cultures' is dedicated to 'Multilingual Educational Approaches and Language Policies' and to the 10 years of the Joint Greek-French Postgraduate Programme “Didactiques du plurilinguisme et politiques linguistiques - Diffusion des langues et cultures en contexte multilingue”, a cooperation between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Maine, France.
The conference is addressed to researchers in bi/multilingualism and new approaches towards language policies in education. The fourth Crossroads attempts to explore the limits of languages, bilingualism and translanguaging and to investigate issues of intralanguage and language policies in education. The two thematic axes of the conference are:
a) Teaching approaches of multilingualism: translanguaging, multiliteracies, technologies and language education and
b) Language policies within and outside Europe: dealing with contemporary challenges
